The revelation of former DENR Secretary Ramon Paje in an interview with CNN Philippines that our country, an archipelago, has 7,641 islands, which is more than what was previously thought, means one thing: that there is more fun in the Philippines indeed. The addition of more than 500 islands to the previous count of 7,107, based on a project conducted by the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), shows that there are many more reasons for us, not only for foreign tourists, to explore and discover the natural beauty of our country. With that, regardless of the season, we have many more reasons for us to behold, capture, and share in real-time fashion wonderful memories of the wondrous sights that our blessed country can offer. Thankfully, many of today’s technological innovations allow us to take photos and videos with ease with the help of digital cameras and smartphones, many of which are now more compact yet more capable in the aspect of photographic prowess, compared to their previous-generation counterparts. To help you find out the best prosumer camera or camera-centric smartphone for the summer season, the April 2017 issue of HWM Philippines has dedicated pages for a back-to-back shootouts of these cool contraptions. Moreover, our Gear section is loaded with a wide range of items that you could use and enjoy just in time for the sultry season, whether you choose to go out in the sun or stay in the shade at the comfort of your home. The latest issue is also an insightful one as executives from AMD and ASUS share with us a glimpse of their roadmaps, and IDC’s Futurescapes shows us what the future holds as the country begins to dive deeper into digital transformation in the months to come.
