After months of speculation, the Department of Tourism has finally released its much-anticipated new slogan for the Philippines: “Its More Fun in the Philippines.” The tagline and accompanying images have exploded all over the Internet, showing the Filipino’s knack for taking things viral.
When the forefathers of the Internet envisioned it decades ago, they were thinking of more serious usage applications such as bridging the long-distance communications gap for educational and military use. Little did they expect that as it reached greater audiences, it would blossom into a rich, overflowing fountain of fun pop culture.
