Event: Let There Be More Light! – Epson Unveils New Projectors
A Smorgasbord Of Projectors
In one fell swoop, Epson recently introduced seventeen new projectors that range in use from school and office settings to home theater setups. This new and comprehensive range of projectors are set with competitive price points while incorporating game-changing features that are not found in most projectors currently offered in the market.
The launch event was entitled “See The World From Your Point Of View” and it showcased innovations that Epson incorporated into their projectors to completely transcend the primary and basic use of doing business presentations. As such, the new line-up addresses expanded applications in home theater, in schools as educational tools, and concert halls and other functions.
Basic Requirements
The first and most basic offerings are the six projectors that fall under the Epson EB S/W/X series, namely the Epson EB-S11, EB-S12, EB-W12, EB-X11, EB-X12, and the EB-X14. This line of affordable projectors was designed to incorporate features found in expensive, high-end models into cost effective devices that offer almost the same functionality, if not better! Powered by Epson's 3LCD technology, the entire lineup is aimed for use in schools and small offices. Each of the six new models also feature Epson’s Horizontal Keysone Adjuster which allows users to conveniently and quickly correct keystone distortions caused when the projector is placed at an angle to the projection surface.
Short And Sweet
The next line to be showcased is the Epson EB-400 Series of short-throw projectors which include the Epson EB-420, EB-425, EB-425W, and the EB-435W. Ideal for confined spaces, this new range of short-throw projectors bridge the gap between standard normal-throw distance projectors and ultra-short throw models. These projectors can achieve 2,500 to 3,000 lumens, negating the need to switch off the room lights to properly perceive the projected image. The EB-400 series can be installed 0.8 meters away from the projection surface but still be able to produce an 80-inch WXGA projection.
Made To Do Business
The Epson EB -1800 series is the line that means serious business, whether in a meeting room or in school. Its included models are the Epson EB-1860, EB-1870, EB-1880, and EB-1850W. This range of projectors includes models that can achieve 3,500 to 4,000 lumens to allow use in the most brightly lit environments to address the persisting problem of excess ambient lighting washing out colors and details on the projected image and ensure vivid presentations all the time. The best thing about the new models is the good balance in price versus performance when compared with competing high-end models presently available in the market, especially given the extensive connectivity options and networking capabilities.
Home 3D Experience
Among the throng of projectors, two were explicitly made to provide high-quality 3D home theater experience. These are the Epson EH-TW6000 and EH-TW8000. These are Epson’s first ever 3D projectors and are currently being marketed as the world’s brightest 3D home theater projectors. Epson achieved this feat by installing an image engine capable of a 480Hz refresh rate. The projectors are also more compact compared to other 3D projectors.
Upsize Your Apple
Last but not the least is a projector that is the first of its kind in Epson’s line-up. The Epson MG-850HD is marketed as the world’s first Apple device HD projector and comes packaged with a convenient dock for Apple iPods, iPhones, and iPads. Users will then be able to browse and enjoy photos and videos loaded on the Apple devices. This projector even features 10W speakers making it an all-in-one entertainment solution.
