Leading Innovation - Toshiba Unleashes New Televisions, Notebooks for 2012

Innovations For 2012 & Beyond

Japanese electronics giant Toshiba has been pretty quiet as of late, not staging any major event since their announcement of a local HQ back in September of last year. With their recent launch event in the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in Taguig, it seems that they aim to make up for lost time by launching an avalanche of new, feature-packed products and introducing a new brand ambassador to promote them, Solenn Heusaff.

A New Way To View

A longtime but relatively quiet player in the television market, Toshiba made a splash by unveiling new models under its REGZA and POWER TV lineups. Headlining the former is the RZ1, a stunning 55-inch beauty that has a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is basically four times full HD - an achievement Toshiba calls Quad HD. The REGZA RZ1 is also the first glasses-free 3D television, thanks to its embedded lenticular sheet, which splits the image into layers and arranges them to create depth without need for 3D glasses.

Feature-Packed & Ultraportable

Over on the other side of the pavilion sat Toshiba's new batch of notebooks, which sees upgrades to Intel's new Ivy Bridge microprocessors and redesigned form factors, while maintaining all the features you need for a techie lifestyle - whether you're a student or business professional. Standouts in Toshiba's 2012 lineup are the ultra-light Portégé Z930, which replaces the highly-recommended Z830, and the Satellite U840, a full-featured Ultrabook for the mainstream set.
