LG G6 lands in PH
Like a G6, like a G6...
Following the success of the award-winning G5, LG is bringing to the Philippine market the G6. Welcoming its arrival, the local arm of the Korean company staged a multifaceted event at the SM Mega Fashion Hall, an apt kick-off venue for such a chic and sleek flagship smartphone. Spearheaded by the executives and representatives from LG, the G6 launch was joined by local musicians, social media influencers, members of the press, and consumers from different walks of life.
“We’re so excited to introduce to the Philippine market our newest mobile innovation,” LG Mobile Philippines VP Jay Won said. “It received excellent feedback from tech experts worldwide because we listened to customers’ modern needs. The G6 went back to basics and took smartphone design, convenience and overall user experience to the next level. With the G6, we hope that Filipinos will be able to expand their capabilities using the big, immersive screen that fits in one hand.”
A product of intensive research and thorough understanding of what consumers are actually looking for, the G6 addresses some of the key concerns connected with big smartphones like difficulty in fitting them in one’s pocket, usability issues, and susceptibility to accidental drops. The G6, in spite of having a big screen, is compact enough to fit in hand and sit in the pocket. LG has achieved this feat by equipping the G6 with a 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision display that complies with the 18:9 format, instead of the now ordinary 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen is fitted in an aluminum body with round corners and extremely narrow bezels.
Speaking of the aluminum body, which will be available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White variants, the G6 is not only a thing of beauty, but also of brawn. Designed to withstand harsh conditions, the G6 went through 14 different 810G military-standard tests involving fog, humidity, rain, and temperature. The G6 can be immersed in up to 1.5 meters for as long as 30 minutes. Heat is kept at bay with the help of a metal frame and heat pipe for effective heat dissipation.
Having a brilliant screen, LG has ensured that the G6 can deliver striking visuals by making it the first smartphone to feature Dolby Vision technology. In addition, it also supports HDR 10 for a wider color gamut, luminosity, and detail. Great visuals are not complete without being complemented with great sound. Hence, the G6 is also blessed with Hi-Fi Quad DAC feature.
The last but not the least, on the imaging front, the G6 comes with a dual 13-megapixel camera system on the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both of which are equipped with a wide angle capacious group shots. With the G6, users are guaranteed with social media-worthy photos, not only because of the cameras’ specifications, but also of software features like Android’s first-ever Square Camera Mode and Food Mode.
Priced at PhP 37,990, the LG G6 is now open for pre-orders. Details of LG Philippines’ pre-order promotion are available in an article posted earlier.
