New Transformers Rolling Out - ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and TF300 Launch

In the midst of tablets that were introduced in 2011, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF101 stood out because of its unique form factor. Breaking conventions, the TF101 sports the innovative 2-in-1 form factor, wherein the tablet can be attached to a keyboard dock to become a notebook computer.

Fast forward to the present, we were at the 360 Bar in Makati City last night where ASUS Philippines officially unveiled two of its latest tablet models under the Transformer line. As a testimony of the success of the 2-in-1 approach that ASUS introduced with the TF101, the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and the Transformer Pad 300 (TF300) feature the same form factor, but with better physique and set of specifications.

Tipped as the world’s first full HD tablet, the Transformer Pad Infinity features a Super IPS+ display with 600 nits brightness level and Corning Gorilla Glass panel for protection. Apart from a high-quality display, the tablet integrates SonicMaster audio technology which we previously experienced with ASUS’ N series notebooks. Combining the best qualities in the aspects of audio and video, the Transformer Pad Infinity is an ideal media-centric platform for consumers.

Inspired by the elegant design of Zenbook Ultrabooks, the Transformer Pad Infinity is clad in an 8.5mm-thin metallic body with a concentric circle finish. Within, the tablet packs a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and has an 8-megapixel main camera with F2.2 aperture, 5-element lens, and LED flash, couple with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Transformer Pad Infinity is on offer for the price of PhP 37,995.

On the other hand, the Transformer Pad 300 Series is a trendy tablet arriving in three different colors: Royal Blue, Iceberg White, and Torch Red. Like the Transformer Pad Infinity, the tablet is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, features SonicMaster audio technology, and has an 8-megapixel main camera with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The keyboard dock of the Transformer Pad 300 Series doubles as a portable battery for the tablet, extending its juice from 10 to 15 hours. The tablet is priced at PhP 24,995.

Besides the two tablets, ASUS Philippines also announced the availability of the Eee Pad Memo ME171. First introduced during Computex 2011, this tablet is exclusively sold through PC Express.

The unique tablet-to-notebook form factor which ASUS introduced is not exclusive to Android-powered Transformer tablets. At Computex 2012, ASUS already showed its upcoming Windows-powered Transformer models. While exact dates of availability and prices are not yet disclosed, there’s nothing wrong with assuming that they will be released in October, the same month when the official version of Windows 8 is expected to come out.
