Nissan unveils smarter, more stylish X-TRAIL compact crossover in PH
Nissan is bringing to the Philippines the enhanced version of its popular compact crossover, the Nissan X-TRAIL. Three years after the launch of its first iteration in the country, the new X-TRAIL is packed with Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, together with new enhancements. The new X-TRAIL is the first Nissan vehicle in the country to be integrated with the largest range of available advanced Intelligent Mobility technologies.
"The Nissan X-TRAIL offers enough room for families and groups who love to go on road trips. With Nissan Intelligent Mobility, our customers can enjoy each adventure as they drive safe and sound. We want them to treat the new X-TRAIL as a partner that looks out for them so they can have a fun and hassle-free time on the road," Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) President and Managing Director Ramesh Narasimhan said.
The launch of the all-new X-TRAIL follows Nissan's participation in the 1st ASEAN AV and Hybrid Summit last July where the automaker put emphasis on the Nissan Intelligent Mobility, along with the showcasing of the Nissan Leaf and the Nissan Note e-POWER, as the company's response to the continuous rise of carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming.
"The Nissan Intelligent Mobility has three pillars: Intelligent Power, Intelligent Driving, and Intelligent Integration. The Leaf and the Note e-POWER fall into the category of Intelligent Power. What we are starting in the Philippines is Intelligent Driving by making the driving experience safer as well as more convenient and comfortable for the motoring public in the Philippines. We are not here with Intelligent Power yet. The Leaf is something that I would love to bring, but as I mentioned in July, the market must be ready for something like that," Narasimhan added. Dax Avenido, NPI's Senior Manager for Communications, also remarked that the government has a major responsibility in putting up infrastructures that will support e-vehicles.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies integrated in the new X-TRAIL include:
- Around View Monitor - provides drivers with a 360-degree perspective for easier navigation
- Moving Object Detection - sends a visual and audible alert when there's movement around the vehicle
- Blind Spot Warning - detects objects in the driver's blind spot
- Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Emergency Braking - sends a visual and auditory warning, then applies an emergency break to avoid collisions
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert - alerts the driver to unseen vehicles while reversing
- 4x4-I System - automatically adjusts power distribution to give drivers full control of the vehicle as they take on challenging road conditions
Sporting a fresh exterior and interior, the X-TRAIL flaunts a new front fascia with integrated fog lamps, bumper, revised headlights with LED signature Daytime Running Lights, and the signature Nissan "V-Motion" grille. New 19-inch wheels, fin-type antenna, and a new sun roof add to the vehicle's dynamic look.
Inside, the new door and instrument panel finishers, new shift knob design, revised center console, and the console lid define the car's plush interiors. D-shaped steering wheel with a modernized interface, leather-booted transmission shift lever, and a motion-activated tailgate are also introduced as new modifications.
Available in Premium Corona Orange, Marine Blue, Pearl White, Gun Metallic, and Diamond Black color schemes, the Nissan X-TRAIL will sell in 4x4 and 4x2 variants for PhP 1,728,000 and PhP 1,399,000 respectively, starting this month in all Nissan dealerships.
