Taiwan Expo showcases IoT solutions for retail, transportation and healthcare
At the Taiwan IoT Solutions for Smart Living seminar in Taiwan Expo which was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, select brands presented their IoT-based solutions that can help various stakeholders in taking advantage of the Internet to improve advertising, business sales, transportation, and health care in the Philippines.
Starting off with Acer, the Taiwanese company known for IT consumer products, introduced the Acer Being Signage which can help retailers in the entire digital marketing process, beginning with consultation to operation. Solutions offered include software that utilizes cloud-based video analytics solution for creating, delivering, and monitoring digital campaigns.
Speaking of video analytics, Vivotek is introduced the SC8131, the company’s latest stereo network camera that can generate data by tracing numbers of people and their flow paths. Business owners can use this solution to gather information that can be used in making operational decisions such as enhancing store layouts and creating product promotions.
Meanwhile, Ropali-Teco Corporation presented its electronic vehicles (e-vehicles) that were proposed as solutions, in light of the worsening public transportation landscape in the Philippines. The company’s e-vehicles, in the form of customized local jeepneys and tricycles, are eco-friendly and energy-efficient, powered by a 2.3kW electric motor with up to 20% climbing capacity when traveling on a sloping path.
Lastly, in the field of healthcare, Taiwan Main Orthopaedic Co. Ltd. presented precursory medical glasses that take advantage of mixed reality and calculation camera image positioning technology. The glasses are designed to help in enhancing accuracy and shortening the time when conducting surgical operations.
Taiwan Expo is an event sponsored by the Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Taking place from September 29 to October 1, Taiwan Expo served as a perfect avenue for many of Taiwan’s native brands, especially those from the field of ICT, to showcase their latest products and services.
