Codenamed "Threshold", Windows 9, Microsoft's next-generation OS, will feature a mini Start menu and an early version of Cortana, according to some reports. The latest rumors are suggesting that Microsoft might unveil the OS on September 30.

Collaborating with OCZ/Toshiba, AMD announced its foray into the storage market by introducing its Radeon R7 solid-state drives. The new SSDs will be available in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB storage capacities.
Aiming to expand its presence in the Southeast Asian region, China-based Kimtigo is bringing its products to the region, including the KTA-350 SSD. It is available in storage capacities of up to 480GB and promises fast performance.

Smart Communications is ushering in a new era of wireless technology by bringing "5G" LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) to the Philippines. Tests conducted by Smart show that LTE-A can deliver more than 200Mbps download speeds.
NVIDIA recently released the GeForce GT 720, an entry-level GPU based on the 28nm Kepler architecture. Welcoming its arrival, NVIDIA's add-in card partners also released their own graphics card iterations based on the GeForce GT 720.

From August 8 to September 8, ASUS will be offering the R9 280 DirectCU II Top Edition graphics card bundled with the Cerberus gaming headset. To get the headset, consumers will have to pay additional PhP 45 on top of the graphics card's price.
First spotted at Computex 2014 last June, the X99 Extreme4 motherboard is now the world's first Windows 8.1-certified motherboard with Intel X99 chipset, according to ASRock's claim. The board is compatible with Intel Haswell-E CPUs and DDR4 RAMs.
In anticipation of the arrival of Intel Haswell-E CPUs and X99-based motherboards, ADATA launched the Premier series of DDR4 2133 Unbuffered memory modules. ADATA previously demonstrated its DDR4 memory modules at Computex 2014 in June.
