Event: ASUS Technical Seminar – A New Era Of High Performance Products
New Hardware For A New Computing Era
ASUS recently held the first technical seminar for 2011 at the Oakwood Joy Nostalg Center ballroom. The topics discussed mostly pertained to the new Z68 motherboards and their features, primarily that of the new Lucid Virtu technology. A few motherboards and a high-end graphics card were also previewed. However, one of the motherboards is still under wraps so we are not yet at liberty to share what we were made privy to. But do watch out for it in the coming weeks.

ASUS thoroughly explained the how their latest products and exclusive technologies will affect gaming experience, power efficiency and overall system reliability through a series of detailed presentations.
ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z
For gamers, ASUS starts off with the ASUS Maximus Gene-Z. It is the first mATX ROG motherboard in ASUS’ lineup to support the new Intel Z68 chipset and offer Lucid Virtu technology. Despite the board size, the Gene-Z offers the same level of gaming performance that is to be expected of an ROG motherboard. Price tag for the Gene-Z is at PhP 12,990
Sabertooth 990FX
Among the products showcased was the new Sabertooth 990FX, which is the first AMD-based Sabertooth motherboard that ASUS has produced. It utilizes the full scope of ASUS TUF components but without the thermal armor which is found on the P67 version. It also provides full support for Socket AM3+ processors and features UEFI BIOS, Efficient Switching Power Design, and DIGI+ VRM.

Crosshair V Formula
The Crosshair V Formula is another AMD-based motherboard that falls under the ROG gaming series of motherboards. As is with most ROG boards, it includes a wide range of features which includes 3-way SLI/CrossFireX, SupremeFX X-Fi 2, UEFI BIOS, and full support for AMD 32nm processors.

ROG MATRIX GTX 580
Finally, ASUS introduced the massive ROG MATRIX GTX 580 graphics card. This exceptional graphics card is nearly identical in size to another massive card also introduced by ASUS, the ASUS ARES. The MATRIX GTX 580 is designed to be extremely overclockable and provide the best graphics performance possible.

Unfortunately, those salivating over the MATRIX GTX 580 will have to wait a little while longer as the this uber high-end graphics card is not yet available for purchase. We will however keep you updated once ASUS starts rolling these babies out for retail.
