Event: Linksys' E-Series Routers - Supercharging Your Home Network

Unveiling The Flagship

Cisco today unveiled at an intimate press gathering at the Manila Hotel Champagne Room a new line of Linksys E-Series wireless-N routers. Headlined by the flagship E4200, the rest of the line-up is comprised of the E3000, E2000, and the E1000, all designed to take the consumer’s home networking experience to the next level thanks to the new precedents they set for simplicity, power, and performance.

The hero of the day and the focus of much of the attention was the flagship Linksys E4200 maximum performance dual-band wireless-N router. The latest and most advanced member of Linksys’ E-Series of routers, the E4200 is a Red Dot awardee for product design and is set apart by its blazing fast performance of up to 450Mbps at the 5GHz band, making it ideal for video streaming within the home.

Featuring a simultaneous dual-band (2.4 and 5.0Ghz) wireless-N design, the E4200 also offers up four gigabit Ethernet ports, six antennas and a 3 x 3 MIMO stream configuration on the 5.0Ghz band. As expected of a flagship router, features such as QoS for bandwidth prioritization, UPnP support for expanding the functionality of Internet-enabled devices, and a USB port for adding external storage onto the network all come as standard. Already available in the market, the E4200 carries an MSRP of PhP 9,288.

The Rest Of The E-Series Gang

Of course, aside from introducing their flagship and hero model, Linksys executive also took some time to introduce the rest of the line-up within their E-Series routers in the form of the E3000, E2000, and E1000.
