The Rockwell Tent played host to Samsung Philippine's formal launch of the Smart Camera series of digital cameras. What makes the new lineup special is that all of the models feature built-in Wi-Fi, which allows them to upload photos and video onto Facebook, YouTube and other social networking sites instantly. Another nifty feature is Mobile Link, which uses the camera's Wi-Fi chip to create a small wireless network, which any Android device with the Samsung Mobile Link app installed can connect to. That device then becomes a remote viewfinder and even a remote control. You can check out the video below to see it in action.

Other features common across all the new camera models include HD video recording, Live Panorama, which lets you create a panoramic shot just by swiping the camera around, Smart Photo Filters and Split Shot, which splits one frame into three parts, allowing you to mix and match different things together in one picture. The full Smart Camera lineup is as follows: the ST66, ST77, DV300F, and the WB150F. Also showcased was the mirrorless NX200, which we got to review a just recently.

The ST66 and the ST77

The Samsung ST66 and ST77 are basically twins in terms of specifications, as both models have a 16.1-megapixel image sensor, a bright f/2.5 lens that can zoom up to 5x optically and slim, lightweight form factors that come in a variety of colors. The only difference between the two is that the ST77 has a slightly thinner profile as it doesn't have a raised hand grip, and it has Optical Image Stabilization, as opposed to Digital Image Stabilization in the ST66. The ST66 has an SRP of PhP 5,990, while the ST77 goes for PhP 6,990.

DV300F

The DV300F is Samsung's first Smart View camera to feature built-in Wi-Fi. It has a small 1.5-inch secondary screen in front so you can take group self-portraits easier. It also has a 16-megapixel sensor and 5x optical zoom. It is available now for PhP 9,990.

WB150F

At the head of Samsung's Smart camera lineup is the WB150F. It comes with a whole host of manual settings, along with an impressive 18x optical zoom Schneider-Kreuznach lens and a 14-megapixel sensor. The price tag isn't bad either, at just PhP 11,990.
