BenQ Climbs to Second Place in Asia Pacific Projector Market

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - BenQ continues to lead the projector market as the number two projector brand in the Asia Pacific market in the first quarter of 2011, with a 12% market share, according to the latest research report released by Futuresource Consulting.The report also cites BenQ as the number two projector brand and number one Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector brand worldwide. DLP projectors have outsold Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) projectors for the last four consecutive quarters. In Asia Pacific, BenQ’s year-on-year growth rate of 34% is higher than the average market growth rate, highlighting BenQ’s consistent progress across the region.

Whilst achieving the lion’s share of the DLP segment, BenQ is also leading in the future-proof 3D technology sector with a 23% market share and ranked the number two brand in both short-throw and interactive segments in Asia Pacific in Q1 2011. Which also shows BenQ’s capability of developing new technologies to enhance people’s life. Indonesia is a leading market for BenQ where the company takes top spot as the number one projector brand starting from 2007. In India, owing its success to widespread penetration in education sector, BenQ is ranked as the number two projector brand; while in Japan, BenQ is also the leading brand in the 3D and short-throw technology sectors in Q1, 2011. In 11 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region, BenQ is consistently ranked in the top three positions.
