Epson Marks Opening of New Factory, President Aquino Bears Witness

Driven by aim of strengthening its presence in the country, Epson Precision Philippines Inc. (EPPI) has opened a new factory in Lipa, Batangas. EPPI has invested USD 110 million in the construction of the new facility, which is the largest in the company’s history.

To celebrate the opening of the new factory, EPPI, led by Seiko-Epson President Minoru Usui and EPPI Managing Director Tadaaki Hagata, held its inauguration last December 8, 2011. The event was graced by President Benigno S. Aquino III, PEZA Director-General Lilia de Lima, and Japanese ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe, together with government officials and local suppliers.

With the new factory, EPPI is looking forward to using it as an avenue to increase the company’s 3LCD projector and inkjet printer manufacturing capacity, and to create 2,000 more jobs and boost the Lipa economy.
