Intel To Show Off Rosepoint CPU With Integrated WiFi

According to an article from The Verge, tech giant Intel is hard at work in developing the next generation of mobile processors for soon-to-be-released Intel-powered smartphones, tablets and notebooks. The company will be showing off its latest development, codenamed "Rosepoint", in the IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications in San Francisco later this week. The prototype dual-core chip will be the next iteration of the Atom line of mobile-minded CPUs.
The major innovation it brings to the table is onboard Wi-Fi, which dramatically reduces size, cost, and power requirements. Intel CTO Justin Rattner was keen to point out that the new Wi-Fi chip is digital (as opposed to the current analog ones), so it is scaleable, just like any other microchip, which means it will get even smaller and more efficient as time goes by. "Rosepoint" won't be commercially available though until 2015. CPUs that incorporate cellular data and built-in radio antennas are also in the pipeline.
