Microsoft SkyDrive Gets Major Update, Offers 7GB of Storage
Online cloud storage. It's the hottest thing in technology right now apparently, as big players from Apple to HTC and Google have rolled out their own versions of the service in some form or another. Microsoft was one of the first to offer online cloud storage, with SkyDrive, as early as 2008. In order to keep up with the new competition the company has beefed up the service, now offering 7GB of free online storage, along with new desktop applications for Windows 7 and Apple's Mac OSX. The free 7GB of free space is currently the largest among the new competing services, as everyone else offers just 5GB. To get more, you have to pay an annual fee of US$10 for an additional 20GB while an extra 50GB and 100GB will set you back US$25 and US$50 per year, respectively.
