MSI Announces Record-breaking Winners Of Its Overclocking Competitions

This week marks the announcement of winners from MSI's latest overclocking competitions. First up are the winners from the Kombustor Competition. Kombustor is MSI's software for game full loading and performance testing. The software has four built-in special effect modes, which include: Fur Rendering for picture detail boosting, Tessellation for making gaming simulation more realistic, PhysX for enhancing physical effects, and Geometry Instancing for creating a more vivid gaming experience. Over 3,000 overclockers from around the world participated in the competition, with BloodShed taking top honors with a P-Score of P4321 and an X-Score of X1234. BloodShed won a WindPad 100W for this achievement. Graphics cards involved in the competition, ranged from the entry-level Radeon HD 6450 and mid-range GeForce GTX 550 Ti to the high-end GeForce GTX 580 and even the latest Radeon HD 7970.Click here for the full list of scores, and here for more information on MSI's Kombustor software.

MSI was also part of Futuremark's Operation: Overclock competition, where Spyboy48 from Singapore emerged with a score of 19090, the official world record for 3DMark 11 Physics score. Spyboy48 achieved this score with a rig that was made up of an Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition processor and MSI X79A-GD65 (8D). In its stock configuration, the setup would have scored about 11000, which means Spyboy48 was able to improve CPU performance by almost 75%.
