NZXT introduces the Manta, their first mini-ITX case

NZXT Manta

NZXT has announced Manta, its first mini-ITX case with a design that looks calculated to hold your gaze despite its diminutive size. Then again this is the same company that made the popular Phantom series of cases, so we can’t say we’re surprised.

The Manta is one sleek case, all curves and smooth, sloping lines that give it a distinctly modern look. There’s a functional aspect to the curves though, as it actually helps create more space for cable management and high-end hardware. The panels themselves are constructed of reinforced steel, so you don’t have to worry too much about unwanted flexing.

Given the heavy focus on design, it’s also no surprise that the left side panel sports a full length side window for you to show off your hardware. Thankfully, you have the extra cable management room and PSU shroud to help you hide all your stray cables and keep the build nice and clean.

There’s also ample support for water-cooling, and NZXT says that this is the first mini-ITX case that can accommodate up to three radiators – two 280mm radiators at the front and top and one 120mm radiator at the rear – at the same time.

When it comes to room for storage drives, the Manta can take up to three 2.5-inch SSDs, with two side mounts visible through the window and a third bay hidden by the PSU shroud. In addition, there are two 3.5-inch bays, one located below the PSU shroud as well and the other underneath the SSD mounts.

And even though it’s a mini-ITX case, you should have no problem getting full-sized hardware in there. NZXT says that you can install CPU coolers up to 160mm in height, and graphics cards and PSUs up to 363mm in length. With that amount of space, there is literally no card that will be too long to fit in there, although you should probably limit yourself to dual-slot cards given that this is still a mini-ITX case with just two expansion slots.

The Manta is available in both windowed and non-windowed versions in three colors – Matte White/Black, Matte Black/Red, and Matte Black. It will sell for US$139.99 and is slated to begin shipping in February.
