Samsung's Series 9 With Ivy Bridge Makes Its Way To The Philippines
With the release of the Series 9 notebook last year, Samsung was one of the first manufacturers to offer an "Ultrabook" type of notebook, which is quickly becoming the standard this year. Not to be left behind, Samsung has recently refreshed the Series 9, which is now officially recognized as an Ultrabook as it fits right into the Intel's strict weight and volume measurements: it comes in at 14.9mm (0.58 inch) thin and tips the scales at 1.59kg (3.5 lbs).

Even with those scant dimensions, Samsung's engineers were still able to maximize the space available, fitting the new Series 9 with a 15-inch display within a chassis that would normally be used for a 14-incher. The new 1600 x 900 display features Samsung's HD+ SuperBright Plus technology which makes it 180% brighter than standard notebook LCDs and has a viewing angle of 160 degrees.Running the show is an Intel Core i7 processor supported by 8GB of RAM. Storage comes standard at 256GB via SSD. This means that it can boot up from flat dead in 9.8 seconds and from sleep in just 1.4, as well as boast a 10-hour battery life. Sweet specs to be sure, which of course comes at a relatively hefty price: PhP 76,500.
