<p>While Samsung&rsquo;s Android-based Galaxy smartphones and tablets remain the talk of the town for mobile technology enthusiasts, it is interesting to note that the Korean chaebol is still eager in raising the flag of its very own bada platform. Why is it so? Because bada is still a significant platform for Samsung. Two research firms, <a href="http://omgbada.wordpress.com/2012/02/04/bada-market-share-soaring/" target="_blank">Canalys</a> and <a href="http://www.neowin.net/news/ouch-bada-os-market-share-larger-than-windows-phone" target="_blank">Gartner</a>, confirm this through their reports last month, showing that Samsung was able to sell three million bada-based smartphones in Q4 2011. That is just a fraction of the 13.2 million units that the company sold during the entire year. Worth mentioning, this is much larger than the 6.8 million units of <a href="http://www.hardwarezone.com.ph/search/all/windows%20phone" target="_blank">Windows Phone</a> devices that were shipped during the same period.</p>

<p>One solid proof of Samsung&rsquo;s continuous support for the bada platform is the S8600 Wave 3. A closer look at this smartphone, one can easily say that Samsung has closely paid attention to its build quality. In its entirety, the S8600 Wave 3 feels solid because of its use of a metallic chassis that sports an elegant brushed finish. </p>
<p>In front, the smartphone touts a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass panel, two design elements that are typically associated with high-end smartphones. With the use of a Super AMOLED screen, the S8600 Wave 3 brilliantly renders a variety of visual content, ranging from text to moving images, and can deliver good legibility in sunlight. The 4-inch screen size&rsquo;s adequacy is felt when using the phone&rsquo;s virtual keyboard.</p>

<p>The S8600 Wave 3 shares a number of similarities with Samsung&rsquo;s Galaxy smartphones. Below the screen, the smartphone has a tangible Home button flanked by the capacitive Call and Cancel keys.</p>
<p>Looking at the rear side, the S8600 Wave 3 comes with a 5-megapixel camera with a single LED flash. A secondary VGA camera is located in front. Noticeably, the phone does not have buttons nor ports on its top side. The volume rocker and the power button are located on the sides, whereas the Micro USB and the audio port are situated on the bottom.</p>

<p>Samsung has shrewdly implemented the S8600 Wave 3&rsquo;s unique casing mechanism, which partly reminded us of HTC&rsquo;s Desire S and the 7 Mozart. Instead of employing a removable back cover, the S8600 Wave 3 uses a sliding type to reveal its internal compartments for the battery module, SIM, and the microSD card.</p>			</div>
