Going Sporty

By looks alone, you can easily tell that the AKG K 326 Sunny is a sporty type of headset. Its earphones are equipped with rubber ear hooks that keep them in place while you are running, biking or doing any other sports activity. Snaking from the earphones is a meter-long, bright yellow cable which ends up with a gold-plated 3.5mm audio connector. An in-line microphone and a volume rocker are integrated to the cable attached to the right earphone. One thing to note about the volume rocker is that it did not work while we were listening to music from a Windows PC, an Android smartphone or a Nokia handset.

Rubber rings help in enhancing the earphones’ grip on the outer ear. The rubber rings are removable and you can replace them with foam ear pads that are bundled with the headset. Apart from the foam ear pads, the K 326 Sunny also comes with a headset casing.

Though the ear hooks are adjustable (they can bend according to the contour of your ear), the headset is not meant for ears of all sizes – the ear hooks might feel loose for those who have a small pair of ears. We wished that AKG had made the ear hooks removable or bundled the headset with a set of different ear hooks for a snug fit. In addition, we wished that the K 326 Sunny should either be moisture-proof or waterproof, considering that it is positioned as a sports headset.
