Introduction and Physique
The PIXMA Legacy
Last year saw the release of the Canon PIXMA E500, which made a strong case as one of the best and most efficient All-in-One printers in the market. Its appealing price tag branded it as an ideal choice for both students and anyone in need of a practical printing solution. This time around, Canon has decided to up the ante. The diverse company has created a successor that follows the same naming scheme, yet definitely belongs on a much higher spot in Canon’s AiO printer hierarchy. We’re talking about none other than the PIXMA E600.

Those looking to upgrade from a PIXMA E500 or similar would surely be in for a surprise with this new model from Canon. The PIXMA E600 is basically a home office AiO version of its predecessor. It now boasts features true to its new category, which include faxing capabilities, fax security, and integrated Auto Document Feeder for swift copying and scanning. All these added features justify the additional bulk to the unit, making you forget that it is related to the E500 in any way.

Controls are now conveniently scattered across the front of the printer. A larger monochrome display is now usable for more accurate information on what you’re copying or printing, but it’s still quite small and feels like it came straight out of a common calculator. The rest of the panel is well-spaced, providing straightforward hardware buttons with no sight of unnecessary touch-sensitive keys. A downside that carried over from previous Canon printers however, is the fingerprint-loving black finish. Over compulsive individuals would repeatedly wipe off smudges after every single button press.
