Physique and Features

A Happy Employee Is A Productive Employee

While monitor technology has seen its share of improvements, these are usually incremental at best and hardly anything truly groundbreaking. However, from time to time, a feature that’s out of the ordinary surfaces, which brings us to the monitor that we will be analyzing for this review, the Envision P971wL.

The P971wL is an 18.5-inch display with an elegantly-designed piano black bezel. A clear v-shaped extension that runs the entire lower part of the bezel adds to the monitor’s appeal, giving it a crystalline highlight. The monitor’s glossy black, diamond-shaped base matches the bezel with an equally glossy black finish. Embedded into the crystalline extension is a special cosmetic feature called the Smile Reminder. It is also the monitor’s U-shaped LED indicator for distinguishing whether the monitor is switched on or off, or in standby mode. Above the Smile Reminder and embedded on the bezel itself is a set of five touch keys for the power switch and the monitor’s OSD. Curiously, the keys do not have backlight which makes it a little difficult to distinguish them from the bezel beyond touch. Thankfully, their labels are embossed. Connectivity-wise, the P971wL only supports the standard VGA port.
