Entering The Fray

When Lenovo officially joined local mobile phone market sometime in October, they introduced five feature phones and one Android-based device. The said Android offering is the Lenovo A60.

The A60 is currently the only Android-based model that Lenovo has in its lineup and it runs the most recent Gingerbread update. What sets it apart from most of the other Android-based devices in the market is its dual-SIM functionality. Currently there are only a few Android-based phones with dual-SIM capability out in the local market so that should put the A60 in a good position in the eyes of Filipino smartphone users.

The A60 sports a somewhat chunky build at 12.55mm thick. A chrome outline frames the front of the A60 giving it a classy overall look which is complimented by a slick matte finish on its rear side. Its build quality certainly feels very solid but the unit, as a whole, is somewhat heavy. While more recent Android phones have started to forgo solid keys, the A60 maintains a set of three as dedicated Android keys for the Menu, Home, and Back functions. We also spotted a dedicated camera button along the right side of the A60, something that has been generally missing from Android phones.
