The AMA Education System (AMAES), one of the longest-running networks of IT education institutions in the country, has announced its adoption of Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions enterprise software in the hopes of improving its student services and administrative operations throughout its 200 branches both here and abroad. The unique software suite provides a Web-based comprehensive solution specifically for educational institutions, allowing the roughly 150,000 AMAES students and their parents to have have real-time access to important information regarding tuition, enrollment, current curriculum, and other records. Students will also be able to manage their course loads and pay their tuition fees online as well.

Mr. Edwin Santos, CIO for AMAES, says that these improvements will greatly simplify the maintenance and administration of AMAES, therefore reducing costs in the long run. In the past twelve months, the software has been implemented in 12 schools in the AMAES. It was mentioned that the cost of rolling out the system would be in the range of about USD 50 per student, for the Philippine market. The rollout is being done in cooperation with Pakistan's Techlogix, a Gold Partner of Oracle's PartnerNetwork, which has extensive experience in the implementation of Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions in universities in its home country. Other educational institutions have also recentlty tapped Oracle's software solutions, including Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan), with more schools in the pipeline. Mr. Edler Panlilio, Country Manager for Oracle Applications, says that the company sees great potential in the country's education sector, and is proud to be a part of its growth.
