ASRock Unveils Top-end X79 Extreme11 for Sandy Bridge-E CPUs

ASRock has announced its top-end board, the X79 Extreme11 that features the Intel X79 Express chipset with support for LGA2011 CPUs. The board's impressive 24 + 2 power phase design, allows for maximum power delivery and potentially better overclocking results!
We have previously featured ASRock's top-end Intel X79 offerings in the form of its ASRock Fatal1ty motherboard as well as earlier X79 boards. The ASRock X79 Extreme11 pushes the hardware limits by featuring a slew of high-end features including a pair of PLX PEX 8747 controller chips, allowing the board to support a total of forty-eight PCIe lanes!
As a high-end board, it offers hardware RAID support with its LSI SAS 2308 controller that supports eight onboard SAS/SATA 6Gbps connectors. The board comes with the LSI MegaRAID utility to assist users in setting up their HDDs and SSDs into their RAID configurations. Although these connectors are compatible with SATA 6Gbps devices, ASRock advises users to connect their SATA 6Gbps optical disk drives (ODDs) to the board's pair of chipset-driven SATA 6Gbps connectors.
The board features an onboard Creative Sound Core3D audio processor. ASRock claims that the audio processor works together with its Premium Headset Amplifier (PHA) to support up to 250-ohm high-end headsets. Besides catering to audiophiles, the board also has a high-end components like dual-stack MOSFETs and digital PWM that will appeal to overclockers and power users who demand for stable power delivery to the processor.
