Globe Seals Deal with Huawei and Alcatel for Massive Network Modernization

Globe Telecom recently concluded a contract with its technology partner Huawei to roll out a US$ 700 million network expansion over the next five years. This modernization program is to be implemented nationwide to increase the network’s capacity and to radically enhance customer experience with technologically advanced facilities. Alcatel-Lucent is also brought into the fold to manage the project. This decision to include two entities in the project is to help assure that service for the existing network will not be interrupted by the modernization program.
The network modernization program is touted as the most significant investment of Globe in the last two decades. This includes an all-IP infrastructure, pervasive 3G coverage, double fiber optic capacity, 4G and LTE readiness, and overall quality and resiliency. When completed, Globe envisions a robust and resilient network that can provide an unparalleled customer experience to set the company apart from the competition.
