Globe Telecom Extends Help To Visayas Quake Victims

The 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck the Visayas region on Monday has so far claimed the lives of 26 people, with 71 still missing and has affected more than 14,000 families, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Globe Telecom has offered its services to the town of Guihulngan in Negros Oriental, one of the most badly damaged areas. While the carrier's relief goods are still on their way to the area, they have already begun offering free calls for the residents so that they can get in touch with their relatives to make sure they are safe, through a Libreng Tawag center set up just a day after the earthquake.
