Google Postpones Nexus Q, Pre-orders to Get Preview Version for Free

The Nexus Q is an orb-shaped music player which Google initially introduced during its I/O 2012 event in June. Many consumers have already placed a pre-order, but unfortunately, Google recently announced an indefinite delay of its release date. Besides the odd, living room-friendly shape, the Nexus Q has the capability to access songs from the cloud and play them through its built-in speakers. Google explained that the delay is due to the lack of functionality. By adding more features onto the device, the company wants to give justice to its US$299 pricing. Those who pre-ordered should fret not, as Google will provide a preview version of the device at no cost. The Nexus Q is one of the latest additions to the company’s growing line of tangible products, in addition to the Nexus smartphone by Samsung, Nexus 7 tablet by ASUS, and the upcoming augmented reality eyeglasses.
