Leaked Photo of a New BlackBerry 10 Dev Phone
A render of a new mysterious BlackBerry device, "Dev Alpha B", was accidentally put up on RIM's developer website for a short while before being removed. As usual, an attentive user caught wind of it and decided to ask the guys at @BlackBerryDev on Twitter about it. Thankfully, the team responded, stating that "Dev Alpha B will be an eventual hardware bump to the current Dev Alpha". Screenshot below:
Deciding to take the opportunity to learn more about this leaked device, the user asked another question about the purported "hardware bump". As from the second screenshot below, the team responded that Dev Alpha B will have a slightly different internal layout; take for e.g., the placement of the MicroSIM card slot will be changed.
The Dev Alpha device currently features a 4.2-inch 1280 x 768 pixels touch display, 1GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 or better chipset inside.
RIM has also confirmed that these Dev Alpha B devices will be given out to developers prior to the BB 10 launch, with GSMArena speculating that this will take place during BlackBerry 10 Jam America on Sept 25-27 in San Jose, California.
