LG might launch new flagship smartphones sooner than expected
Korean publication Aju Business Daily claims that the research-and-development team has started last month for the LG G7 phone and it could be launched in January 2018. Its next high-profile handset, the V30 which reportedly carries Snapdragon 835 with 6GB RAM as well as dual front and back cameras might also see an earlier launch this year, and is rumored to debut in August.
An earlier launch of new handsets could help sustain the sales momentum in the months ahead especially when Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy Note 8 and Apple celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. To remain competitive, LG is also said to be using OLED displays for its phones from Q3 2017 starting with the V30.
LG is also set to launch the LG G6 Pro and LG G6 Plus later this month, which will aid in the expansion of the user base of LG Pay, a mobile payment service of the said brand. Reports also say that LG and Google will collaborate in manufacturing new Pixel smartphones for this year.
