Microsoft to Release Windows 8 Public Beta in CES Next Year
According to a report from electronista, Microsoft's keynote presentation in next year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will focus almost soley on Windows 8, the successor to their Windows 7 operating system. The rumor is that the annual event will also be the venue for the public beta release of the said operating system. As in previous years, the presentation will be given by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who is expected to talk a lot about tablet computing, specifically about taking on the dominance of Apple's iPad, with possible demonstrations of ARM and Intel-based tablets. Microsoft released a video preview of Windows 8 on its official YouTube channel last month, showing drastic design changes to the user interface which appear to be optimized for touch screens.
