Pentax Makes Weather-Sealed DSLRs More Affordable With K-30
While DSLRs have become increasingly more affordable in the past couple of years, premium features like weather-sealing has only been reserved for the more expensive semi-professional and professional bodies. Pentax, which has made a name for itself with the company's rugged Optio line, now extends its experience in weather-sealing to mid-range DSLRs, starting with the K-30. The new DSLR is aimed at outdoor photographers, featuring 81 seals scattered throughout its body. These seals let you use the camera in extreme temperatures and even rain without worry. Other specifications include a 16MP APS-C sensor, 9/11 cross-type autofocus points, in-camera image stabilization, 1080p video recording and ISO sensitivity of up to 25,600. It also comes in three colors: black, white and blue. Outdoor shutterbugs can pick it up for US$850 (PhP 36,830) body-only and US$900 (PhP 38,996) with an 18-55mm kit lens.
