Skyworth Releases New Android Tablets with 7- and 8-inch Display Sizes

Skyworth further penetrates the local competition of Android devices by bringing its new array of tablets to the Philippines. Skyworth’s new line of SkyPad tablets consists of the S7, S71, S8, and the S8-3G.

Skyworth SkyPad S7 / S71

Running the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system, the S7 and the S71 offer the essential features of an Internet tablet. Sharing several similarities, the S7 and the S71 sport a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and are equipped with a 1GB DDR3 memory, 2-megapixel main camera, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls. Within, the S7 is powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU running at 1GHz clock, whereas the S71 uses the dual-core version of the same processor. Storage-wise, the S7 is loaded with 8GB, while the S71 is packed with 4GB. These storage capacities can be expanded by up to 16GB and 32GB, respectively, by means of a microSD card. For connectivity, the S7 is equipped with a Micro USB and a Mini HDMI, while the S71 has a Mini USB.

Dwarfing their 7-inch relatives, the S8 and the S8-3G are equipped with a larger 8-inch capacitive touchscreen. Both tablets are powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 1GB DDR3 memory. With a more powerful processor, a larger display, and good audio supplied by a stereo speakers, the S8 and the S8-3G make themselves capable entertainment devices. They are ideal for viewing high-resolution photos and watching high-definition videos with 1080p resolution. On the imaging department, the two tablets are equipped with a 2-megapixel main camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Both tablets offer ample storage with their 8GB internal memory that can be expanded by up to 16GB through a microSD card. Like the S7 and the S71, the S8 and the S8-3G also run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.

The S7, S71, S8, and the S8-3G also offer Bluetooth 2.1 (with EDR support), Wi-Fi, and GPS for wireless connectivity.

The SkyPad S8 steps above the S7 and the S71 with its 8-inch touchscreen. Located above the display is a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

The SkyPad S8 offers a multitude of connectors to cover daily needs. The tablet hosts a 3.5mm audio jack, Micro USB connector, SIM slot, microSD slot, and an HDMI port.

The back of the SkyPad S8 is generally smooth. Most prominent element here is the tablet's 2-megapixel camera.
