Torque Avatar Joins Local Phablet Competition

Philippine-based mobile device manufacturer Torque joins the local competition of large-screened Android smartphones by introducing the Torque Avatar. Given its 5-inch touchscreen, the Avatar is categorized as a "phablet" which features a MediaTek MT6577 dual-core ARMv7 processor (1GHz), PowerVR SGX 531 GPU renderer, 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal memory. Software-wise, the device runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The large screen of the Avatar boasts a 640 x 960 resolution with screen density of 240dpi. AnTuTu benchmark application reveals that the Avatar has a main camera that uses a 12-megapixel sensor. The device also has a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. A dual-SIM handset, the Avatar features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS as options for wireless connectivity. Below is a short hands-on video of the Torque Avatar.
