Toshiba Introduces New Android Tablets, Portege Z830 Ultrabook

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Toshiba Philippines Inc. unveiled the PORTEGE Z830 Series, the company‘s first Ultrabook using 2nd Generation Intel Core processors, as well as the company’s new Android-powered tablets, the REGZA Tablet AT100 and AT1S0.

Weighing, a mere 1.12kg and only 15.9mm thick, the PORTEGE Z830 series is about 20 percent lighter and 40 percent thinner than the award-winning ultraportable PORTEGE R830 series. On the other hand, the new REGZA Tablets featuring the latest Android platform offers a choice of 10.1-inch and 7.0-inch diagonal displays with superior video and audio performance. The PORTEGE Z830, REGZA Tablet AT100 and AT1SO will be available during the fourth quarter of 2011 in the Philippines.

Supporting the latest 2nd Generation Intel Core processors and ultra-fast DDR3 memory, the PORTEGE Z830 Series provides the performance needed for work and entertainment plus improved power management for great battery life. The device‘s 128GB solid state drive delivers an extremely responsive experience, increased durability, and increased energy efficiency. Paired with Toshiba's new exclusive Hi-Speed Start Technology, the PORTEGE Z830 can power on and get users up and running at work or home in just seconds. 

The PORTEGE Z830 Series is built with a host of convenience-driven features such as a full-size spill-resistant keyboard that helps guard against accidents. The system also includes Toshiba‘s USB Sleep & Charge technology to users the fieedom to power up their smartphones even while the system is powered down. Stereo speakers enhanced with Toshiba Audio Enhancement technology make the PORTEGE Z830 ideal for listening to music, watching movies and video chatting.

The device features a light, yet durable magnesium alloy casing that is reinforced with an enhanced Honeycomb Rib design and new internal structures that provide shock absorption and increased rigidity. The system also features Toshiba's EasyGuard Technology, designed to address the security, reliability and durability issues that mobile users encounter.

The new Toshiba tablets, powered by a dual core Tegra 2 processor, features a choice of rnulti-touch LED backlit widescreen display in a 16:10 fornat with 1280 x 800 pixels. The ATl00 offers a 10.1-inch diagonal LED display while the AT1S0 offers a 7.0-inch diagonal display, providing ample room for viewing websites in landscape or portrait mode and allowing a cinematic experience for video viewing and gaming. The display is enhanced by Toshiba's exclusive Adaptive Display and Resolution video enhancement technologies to deliver great clarity and sharpness. A comfortable virtual keyboard with Swype technology makes typing easy, while a full suite of sensors, including a Gyroscope and Accelerometer, enable fast and smooth 360-degree screen rotation and control. Designed for easy connectivity and continuity with other digital devices, the REGZA Tablets features a robust collection of familiar connection ports.

The AT100 includes full-size ports like the USB 2.0, HDMI, and an SD Card slot, while the AT1S0 offers a mini-USB, micro-HDMl, and microSD options, giving consumers the ability to easily sync and share their content with other devices. The new Tablets are also equipped with a pair of high-resolution cameras, including a 2-megapixel front-facing webcam and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Stereo speakers tuned with sound enhancement technologies from Toshiba and SRS Labs deliver more natural sound and enhanced clarity for entertainment and video chatting. Dressed in a unique Easy Grip finish, the Toshiba Tablet features a unique slip-resistant surface that is soft to the touch and comfortable to hold. The AT100 even offers a removable back cover as an optional accessories, consumers can easily personalize their tablet with color selection of interchangeable back covers in five vibrant colors: Blue Moon, Raspberry Fusion, Lavender Bliss, Silver Sky, and  Green Apple. A removable battery pack on the AT100 offers flexibility, giving consumers the ability to swap out the battery as needed. 

The Tablet delivers a full Android experience with the robust multi-tasking and customization capabilities of Android Honeycomb. Optimized for tablets, Honeycomb delivers a simple holographic U1, five customizable Home screens, plus a full suite of popular Google rnobile applications, including YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Music,  Videos and more, in addition to Android Market.
