Voice-recognizing Samsung Family Hub 2.0 fridge coming to your kitchen soon
Driven by the purpose of making the region’s home kitchen become smarter, Samsung has introduced the Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator. The new appliance is part of the roster of product unveilings that Samsung staged at the Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum 2017 in Singapore.
The successor of the original Family Hub refrigerator, one of the key features that the new model has is its integration of voice recognition technology. With this feature, users can issue voice commands to the refrigerator to learn about the weather and time, manage to-do lists and calendar schedules, and launch various applications with the help of its 21.5-inch touch-enabled display.
The display also serves as an interactive digital bulletin board where family members can share photos, write and post photos with the help of the Family Hub app installed on their mobile devices. Family member can also use the display to view the food inside without opening the door of the refrigerator (hands-free), identify food items that need to be replenished with the help of built-in cameras, and order food items online.
Minus the smart features, the Family Hub 2.0 is essentially a French door refrigerator equipped with a water dispenser on the outside.
