Xiaomi Official Store goes online on Shopee, Redmi 5 flash sale set on April 4

Shopee recently signed an official partnership with Xiaomi to launch the Xiaomi Official Store. Through the partnership, around 11 million Shopee users in the Philippines can now access various Xiaomi products online, primarily consisting of smartphones, at competitive price points.

Welcoming the rollout of the Xiaomi Official Store, the 16GB variant of the Redmi 5 is will be exclusively available online on Shopee at a special price of PhP 5,990 with 10% Shopee coins cashback through an exclusive flash sale on April 4. Adding to the excitement, Shopee users who pre-registered their interest until March 31 will get a PhP 250 Xiaomi voucher. This can be used to offset the purchase of products on the Xiaomi Official Store.

"In the past few years, we have witnessed tremendous growth in the number of Filipino consumers purchasing electronics, and in particular, smartphones, online," Shopee Chief Operating Officer Terence Pang said. "In the Philippines, electronics is one of the leading product categories sold online with a total market volume of USD 543 million in January 2018, and it is also one of the top performing categories on Shopee. We are delighted to partner with Xiaomi, a global technology leader, to provide a greater variety of choices for consumer and to strengthen our position in the electronics category."

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, Xiaomi's Redmi 5 comes with a dual micro-SIM slots, sporting a 5.7-inch Full Screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a 3300mAh battery. The 12-megapixel rear camera comes with 1.25-micron pixel size and phase detection autofocus, coupled with a 5-megapixel front camera with an LED Selfie light to address low lighting conditions.
