LG and TP Vision (Philips) Join Forces to Form Smart TV Alliance
LG Electronics and TP Vision (Philips) has joined forces to officially form The Smart TV Alliance Consortium. Developers will be able to work on the Alliance's Smart TV SDK once the software becomes available before the end of the year.

Philips Forms Alliance with TPV Technology Limited
Philips has officially ceased production of HDTVs. Instead, a joint venture (TP Vision) has been formed with Hong Kong-based TPV Technology Limited where the latter will develop, manufacture, and market television sets carrying the Philips' moniker henceforth.
