Fabia Tetteroo-Bueno, the General Manager of Philips Lighting sector, discussed some of the company's achievements for 2013 during a media appreciation event last week.

2013 has been a busy year for Philips. Carrying different product lines, the company has primarily focused on providing solutions that are designed to help in improving consumers’ healthcare and daily living.

Strengthening its stand on healthcare in the Philippines, Philips teamed up with the Department of Health (DOH). In association with this partnership, Philips installed CT Scans in ten hospitals in the country. For the succeeding year, Philips Healthcare division will continue its support for the Universal Healthcare Program and its initiatives. Philips will help in extending health coverage to the poorest families by means of providing essential healthcare facilities in government hospitals.

The Philips Roomstylers CIELO 40550 series is one of the most expensive offerings in the Modern Living Collection with a price tag of PhP 44,950.

Looking back at Philips’ 2013 milestones in the field of home solutions for consumers, the company launched in May new products like electric pressure cookers, soy milk makers, and steam cleaners. In July, Philips launched Dynalite, a fully integrated and interactive smart home, energy management, and architectural lighting solutions range. This was followed by the introduction of the Modern Living Collection, a range consisting of consumer luminaires for the modern home.

In light of the vast destruction brought about by the typhoon in the Visayas region, Philips donated to the International Red Cross EUR 100,000. It distributed relief items such as medicine, bottled water, tents, emergency lamps, and healthcare equipment such as ultrasound machines and patient monitors. Philips also re-launched its “Innovations that Matter to You” campaign which focuses on the creation of innovative ideas that can help communities that were affected by the typhoon.

2014 will be another busy year for Philips. Starting off with the company’s Avent division, Philips will have year-long activities and promotions for mothers to mark its 30th year in the industry. Philips will have a steam iron education program aiming to remove the myths and fears, and make ironing a fun and easy experience. The last but not the least, Philips will also have a campaign for its AquaTouch line of shavers, in which men of different ages will be targeted.
