Event: PLDT-Smart Jump Experience Center – All Under One Roof

Experiencing Technology

Cementing their leadership in convergence and innovation, PLDT and Smart today opened the first-ever Jump experience center at the Cyberzone area in SM Megamall, in Mandaluyong City. Realizing the value of figuring out the diversified needs of various market segments, PLDT and Smart aim to establish the Jump as a channel where they can orient people about their services at competitive price points. The center is designed to cater various segments of the market, from the international level down to individual consumers.

The official launch of the Jump experience center kicked off with an energetic dance number symbolizing today's dynamic and fast-paced lifestyle brought about by technology.

At the core of the Jump experience center, everything revolves around the essential concept of experiencing technology firsthand before integrating it to lifestyle. PLDT and Smart eye the rapid consumerization of technology through education. That said, the two companies will also partner with schools and universities to promote the Jump. They will also push this kind of relationship with the government, starting off through the field of telehealth.

The Jump Zones

The Jump experience center is divided into different zones. Guests will be welcomed with Jump Avatar where they can make their own dancing avatars. Next stop is the Springboard, a reclusive area where customers can gain more knowledge about the services and solutions that the two entities offer through free demos and training modules. Consumers will also find a wide variety of handsets, ranging from the regular ones that the companies carry to those that are yet to penetrate the local tech landscape.

The Jump Squad is composed of young, tech-savvy individuals who are always ready to assist visitors coming at the Jump experience center.

Guests will be engaged in interactive activities while staying in the Jump. In this certain section of the establishment, they can create their own dancing avatars.

The Solutions Zone has a home-like setup where visitors will be oriented about PLDT's and Smart's products and solutions for home.

For the business-minded, the Enterprise Solutions Zone familiarizes visitors with solutions such as paper-less office management software and IP-based cameras for monitoring productivity. The Stay Connected Zone, on the other hand, showcases the latest wireless technologies such as LTE which Smart describes as the real 4G in the country.

The Jump is also a hub for business-minded individuals. The Enterprise Solutions Zone hosts a lot of offerings in store for them.

Latest wireless technologies, such as LTE, are highlighted at the Stay Connected Zone.

Visitors may play Angry Birds on the Jump's 82-inch interactive touchscreen display.

At the heart of the Jump Experience Center, PLDT and Smart put up the Arena where they aim to hold product launches in the future. There are no boring moments while you are inside the Jump. Itching to play Angry Birds? Satisfy your yearning by playing the game on the 82-inch interactive touchscreen display located in the center’s prominent spot. The said display is also meant for showing PLDT’s and Smart’s technologies and solutions. The place also hosts two 32-inch touchscreen displays where young people (and those young at heart) can play interactive Jump games.

The Present And Future

In spite of the introduction of the Jump experience center, PLDT and Smart clarified that this will not replace their existing business centers throughout the country. Customers must still do the purchasing of products through the two companies’ business and retail outlets.

Interestingly, PLDT and Smart have invested half a million dollars in putting up the Jump experience center. Noteworthy, they have chosen SM Megamall as the venue of their first-ever Jump because of the volume of its traffic and the variety of markets that frequent the place. Their next goal is to expand the center’s presence, not only in Metro Manila, but also in the South, particularly in Cebu and Davao.

Soon-to-be-launched products like (in clockwise direction) the HTC EVO 3D, HTC Flyer, and the latest PLDT TelPad made an appearance during the event. The TelPad is slated to be launched at the end of the month.

One challenge that PLDT and Smart might encounter with the establishment of the experience center is keeping people’s interest. Hence, do expect that they will be keen in bringing in the latest and the hottest from the field of mobile and wireless communications. More ambitious plans were also revealed during the affair including tie-ups with giants Google and Facebook, in addition to their well-established relationship with device manufacturers like Apple, Dell, HTC, Huawei, Nokia, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and ZTE.
