Honda unveils new lineup of big bikes in the Philippines

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) unveiled its newest line of big bikes in a launch held at Shangri-La at The Fort in Bonifacio Global City.

The motorcycle brand released a full line of big bikes aiming to cater motorcycle riders for various purposes, be it for travel or sport. The Honda CB500X, CRF1000L Africa Twin, X-ADV, CBR500R, Rebel 500, and CB650F are just six of the eight new models that are available already at the newest Honda Flagship Store in Manila, while the CB1100EX and CBR1000RR FIREBLADE SP will be making waves next year. These are for thrill-seekers who go on adventures and require tougher bikers with higher engine capacities that enable them to drive with appropriate speed either on highways or rough terrains.

The CBX500 is a mid-displacement bike designed for all-around use and handling of all-terrain rides, ranging from city commutes to unpaved and open roads. This big bike sports a liquid-cooled 471cc parallel-twin engine that is suitable for both short and long rides, while being fuel efficient at the same time.

The CRF1000L Africa Twin boasts a 998cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, parallel engine, and Honda’s Selective Torque Control for efficient power delivery in a wide range of road conditions. Plus it also gases a Biaxial Counterbalance which aims for strength and handling required for a smooth and vibration-free ride.

Honda’s latest middleweight sports bike, the CBR500R, combines the old and new with its traditional bike image and modern style aimed for the aggressive style with its comfortable framework for riding. Its next-level, inline-twin 471cc engine power is capable of racing. It also sports two-channel ABS and 41mm SDBV telescopic fork.

The Honda Rebel 500 aims for both laid-back cruisers and active sports riders with its laid-back triangle, the 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder, four-stroke engine tucked in a low chassis with minimalist design.

Honda’s latest middleweight naked street-style offering called the CB650F boasts tons of features suitable enough for a smooth ride with notable exhaust-pipes that wrap around its four-cylinder-649cc, DOHC inline engine with a new six-speed ratio gearbox, two-channel ABS, a 41mm SDBV telescopic fork, and a fully-adjustable Showa suspension.

The X-ADV has been designed to have the stability of a scooter and the power and toughness of an off-road motorcycle, with its 745cc twin-cylinder engine, tubular-steel chassis, and Dual Clutch Transmission for firm handling on different road surfaces and conditions. Not only that, the Honda X-ADV also has a 41mm upside-down fork, as well as Pro-Link rear shock plus a ground clearance of 162mm that enables the ability to handle dirt and rocks when on an off-road course.

The FIREBLADE is engineered to have lightness, precision, and totally-controllable handling which makes it a MotoGP racing-ready motorcycle. It sports features such as Selectable Torque Control, Selectable Engine Break, New ABS Breaks, Quickhifter, Riding Mode Select System, Power Selector, and OHLINS Smart EC Suspension.

Capping the Honda’s newest product line is the CB1110EX sports a classic design and integrates modern features. An air-cooled inline four-cylinder, six-speed transmission engine is powering this big bike, on top of having a seamless fuel tank, deep chrome exhausts, 17-inch cast aluminum wheels, and hand-built look, as well as two-engine remote fork, remote reservoir rear shocks, four-piston caliper breaks, floating disks, and a sharper chassis.

After the formal launching of the latest Honda Big Bikes, HPI also inaugurated its newest flagship store in Makati City. The store, named Honda Prestige Traders, Inc. will house its complete lineup of products and it will be also serving as an accessible hub for the brand’s growing community. The store will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at EDSA corner Harvard Street, Brgy. Pinagkaisahan, Makati City.
