Pioneer turns a vehicle into a smartphone accessory with the Z-Series receivers

Pioneer Electronics Asia Centre has announced the release of its four new multimedia receivers to the market.

The latest car AV offerings from Pioneer

The Z-series lineup is comprised of car AV receivers 1-DIN AVH-Z7050BT, 2-DIN AVH-Z5050BT, AVH-Z2050BT, and AVH-Z1050DVD. All of these models focus on enhancing user experience through the convenience of one-cable smartphone connectivity in order to provide superior performance. And this is made possible through the utilization of Apple Carplay and Android Auto as their default driving companions on iOS and Android, respectively.

“The world is more connected than ever. Together with the proliferation of smartphones and mobile Internet across Southeast Asia, local drivers are expecting better seamless connectivity in their in-car infotainment systems,” said Mr. Takao Chiba, Deputy General Manager of Business Planning and Marketing Division, Pioneer Electronics Asia Centre. “The new Z-series multimedia receivers were developed to meet consumers’ evolving expectations of easier smartphone connectivity and superior audio/video performance. With that in mind, we have focused on both hardware and software upgrades to offer a complete and improved user experience.”

The Pioneer Z-Series multimedia receivers offer much more connections for everyone as it can simultaneously connect up to five Bluetooth devices. It also boasts an upgraded Bluetooth AVRCP 1.6 capability and allows drivers to enjoy a premium selection of mobile applications (apps) by simply connecting their smartphone to the head unit, such as AppRadio Mode+, AppRadio LIVE, as well as the highlighted by many Waze and Spotify.

Apart from that, the Z-Series comes with easy plug-and-play connection so that drivers and riders can enjoy the seamless experience. All it takes is connecting the phone to the head unit using a USB cable and it can now automatically detect and retrieve the available content from the phone.

The plug-and-play convenience also promises to bring a more cinematic experience while being on the road with the new Full HD (1080) support for popular video file formats such as MKV, as well as an additional support for the NTFS format, and the ability to play larger files straight from portable hard disks.

The receivers are able to provide richer and true-to-life visuals, thanks to their new and improved 24-bit true color LCD screen, meaning they can reproduce up to 16,777,216 hues, or around 256 times better color fidelity than most regular displays.

Pioneer has also made refinements ‘under the hood’ with technologies and expertise from its TAD professional audio division, providing the much-elevated overall sound quality by means of having a new circuit board that eliminates external interference and enhance audio signal integrity, leveraging audiophile-grade components for maximum listening pleasure, and providing enhancement functions that are professionally tuned by Pioneer’s sound engineers that include a 13-band graphic and Auto Equalizers,  Auto Time Alignment, Advanced Sound Retriever, and 192kHz/24ot FLAC Playback.

Each of the 2017 Z-Series device also has the ability to the hands-free voice call, thanks to the wide-band speech support for Bluetooth-enabled models. It can also be an auditory virtual assistant through the help of iPhone's Siri and Google Assistant.
