ThL T100 Monkey King II and T200 Cyborg Preview

ThL T100 and T200 Hands-on

Adrian Lim, IT Director of NOVO7Tech, presenting the ThL T100 Monkey King II and the ThL T200 Cyborg.

The local distibutor NOVO7Tech held an exclusive gathering of select online media members last week, giving the participants a chance to get their hands on two of ThL’s current octa-core smartphone models, the T100 and the T200.

ThL T100 Monkey King II

Compared to other 5-inch smartphones in the market, the ThL T100's profile is longer and slimmer. Other 5-inch offerings have wider body.

One of the first octa-core smartphones that reached the Philippine shores, the T100 (also known as the T100 Monkey King II) is powered by a MediaTek MT6592 chip clocked at 1.7GHz. Complementing the octa-core processor is a Mali-450 GPU (700MHz) and 2GB LPDDR3 (666MHz).

The dark gray back cover has a matte surface. This finish makes the T100 less prone to fingerprints and smudges. On the back, it carries a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The front camera has the same megapixel count as well.

The T100 sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection, and features a dual 13-megapixel camera system (front and back). The main camera is equipped with a Sony 5P blue glass lens filter, featuring f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, and Full HD video recording.

Powered by an octa-core processor, the T100 yielded a high score in AnTuTu Benchmark.

With ample 32GB built-in storage, the T100 runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS and can support up to 64GB expanded storage via microSD. For connectivity, the dual-SIM device supports 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and Wi-Fi. It measures 144.2 x 70.4 x 8.8mm and is supplied with a 2700mAh NASA-grade silicon anode battery.

Removing the back cover, the T100 reveals its slots for two SIM cards and a microSD. This photo also shows the device's 2700mAh battery module.

ThL T200 Cyborg

The bigger relative of the T100, the T200 presents a 6-inch touchscreen.

The second smartphone which NOVO7Tech introduced to us was the T200 Cyborg. The larger sibling of the T100, the T200 comes with a 6-inch Full HD touchscreen protected by a layer of a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel.

Like the T100, the T200 also carries a 13-megapixel main camera with LED flash. The back cover of the T200 is textured for convenient handling.

Like the T100, the T200 is equipped with a MediaTek MT6592 chip with an eight-core CPU, Mali-450 GPU (700MHz), and 2GB LPDDR3 (666MHz). On the imaging front, the T200 carries a dual-camera system: 13-megapixel on the back and 8-megapixel on the front. The main autofocus camera is equipped with a Sony 5P blue glass lens filter and features f/2.0 aperture.

Being equipped with the same CPU and GPU, the T200's score is not far behind the score of the T100 in AnTuTu Benchmark.

The front-facing camera can capture Full HD (1920 x 1080) videos. Because the T200 can shoot high-resolution photos and high-definition videos, ThL has also packed the device with ample onboard storage worth 32GB. The T200 supports 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and Wi-Fi. It measures 160.8 x 84 x 9.4mm and is bundled with a 2500mAh lithium-ion battery module.

Both the T100 Monkey King II and the T200 Cyborg are dual-SIM smartphones. In the Philippines, NOVO7Tech offers the T100 for PhP 13,499, whereas the T200 retails for PhP 14,999. For more photos of the T100 and the T200, visit and register at the Forums section
