Turning challenges into opportunities the Epson way
Helping businesses become future ready
Organizations today face a lot of challenges on various fronts and these challenges are present in all the departments that they handle. If left unaddressed, these challenges can cause increased printing costs, misalignment among internal and external groups, inefficient employee performance, logistical problems, and customer dissatisfaction.
At the recent Epson Solutions and Technology Convention 2017 held at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, Epson Philippines showcased its wide array of solutions that can be used separately or combined together to form a holistic set of solutions that can be used to turn each challenges into opportunities that promote organizational growth.
“The Epson story has always been about creating Inspirational Technology for a Better Future. Always at the heart of these developments is our deep commitment to understand the changing needs of customers. Epson owns innovative technologies that are continually exceeding their expectations,” explains Cris Sanchez, Sales Division Head, Epson Philippines.
Considerably one of the most paper-based departments in an organization, the finance department transacts with several external and internal stakeholders every day and these transactions involve large amounts of paperwork, translating into huge printing costs. Print-related costs are amplified by inefficient use of printers. The finance department also deals with the vast volume of documents that are needed to be digitized through scanning.
Fortunately, companies are now more empowered to manage these challenges with these solutions from Epson. Combining the WorkForce Pro WF-R8591 multifunction printer with Epson Device Admin (EDA) and Epson Print Admin (EPA), companies can better monitor printer usage, reducing not only costs, but also ensuring that critical documents are secure. In addition, for digitization of documents, there is the Epson’s V39 and DS-530 scanners can be combined to allow for convenient and flexible scanning of different media. Lastly, machine and paperwork assets in the finance department can be tagged properly with the help of the LabelWorks LW-700.
One of the primary responsibilities of the marketing department is to think of new strategies on how to translate the company’s business objectives into campaigns. As the process involves collaboration with internal groups and external agencies, confusion may arise when collaterals are submitted for review and revision. In addition, production of samples of marketing collaterals can be time-consuming as it is assigned to a third-party printer. Epson has a right set of solutions in facing these challenges in the marketing department.
The company’s marketing team and collaborating external agencies can have an aligned and interactive discussion with the EB-1430Wi projector combined with Epson’s PC Interactive feature which allows team members to add annotations directly on the design. Activating “Whiteboard Sharing Mode” also enables participants to input comments using their laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Once the discussion is done, annotations and changes can be printed straight to the WF-7611 printer. Proofing and small-volume print jobs of marketing collaterals can be handled by Epson’s large-format printers such as the SureColor SC-P7000 and SC-T7270, both of which are capable of delivering color-accurate, durable printouts on a variety of media.
Gone are the days when training employees are limited to a PowerPoint presentation. With the availability of today’s various technologies and multimedia platforms, organizations have a lot of opportunities to make trainings an enjoyable, interactive, and meaningful experience even when they are conducted in a small room or multiple locations.
Two units of the Epson EB-696Ui projector can be tiled together to form a 170-degree interactive whiteboard.
When paired with an elbow lens, the EB-L1100U can produce a large, high performance display in spite of space constraints. With an adequate Internet connectivity and a reliable unified communications setup, organizations can use the EB-L1100U in conducting trainings in multiple locations simultaneously. With training content delivered through a live feed or a streaming platform, trainees in remote office locations are no longer required to go to the main office, allowing the employees and the entire organization to save resources.
Once the discussion is complete, the presentations can be printed out with the help of WorkForce WF-5621 and saved straight to a USB flash drive.
Some challenges in the warehouse include management of stocks which involves appropriate labeling and packaging, compliance with Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standards, and proper placement for easy location and space-saving purposes.
Auspiciously, Epson has an array of tools that can help an organization face these logistical challenges. Starting off with proper labeling and packaging, the on-demand ColorWorks C7510G can be used in printing out a mixed variety of customized secondary packaging color labels. Meanwhile, its sibling, the ColorWorks C830, makes use of durable pigment-based inks that are certified for BS5609-approved labels and is ideal for GHS large format drum and chemical labeling. Another ColorWorks model useful in the warehouse is the C3510 which can be used in producing color-coded carton box and shipping labels for convenient content identification.
As the logistics environment may involve heavy equipment, dangerous chemicals, and other hazardous elements, it is important that particular items and areas in the warehouse are properly labeled as well. The LabelWorks LW-Z900FK and the LabelWorks LW-Pro100 can be used in these applications. As logistics operation require movements from one place to another, professionals in this field need to have a portable inkjet printer such as the WorkForce WF-100 in producing documents and invoices even on the go.
Surprisingly, even a wearable device such as the Moverio BT-2000 can find its way to the logistics department. Leveraging on the possibilities brought about by augmented reality (AR), the BT-2000 can be used by a warehouse worker to get instant pick list and navigation information in a hands-free interactive environment.
Customer service department
At the customer service department, manual queue process and limited space due to piling documents can result in dissatisfaction and frustration on the part of the customer.
Epson is addressing these issues at the customer service level by providing devices that help in establishing a self-service system. Beginning at the arrival, a visitor can do self-registration and get his or her queue ticket with the help of the TM-m30. Eventually, the visitor can close the transaction at the self-service payment kiosk and get a receipt printed out by the TM-T82.
Along with a camera sensor, the EB-595Wi ultra-short-throw projector can be used as an interactive digital signage display, allowing a visitor to have an overview of the product in an innovative and customized way. Apart from interactive visuals and graphics, a visitor can also have a virtual experience of the product or service through a virtual experience with the help of the Moverio BT-300 smart glasses. With the BT-300, organizations are no longer required to put up physical showrooms. Virtual showrooms can be easily put up in an area with limited space.
Should customers need copies of invoices and quotations, personnel assigned in the customer service department can utilize the reliable M200 Ink Tank System. Apart from producing smudge-free, water-resistant printouts, the M200 printer is easy to use because of its convenient ink replacement system.
