Vivo V5

A selfie smartphone for the "Selfie Capital of the World"

The Philippines has been known for its “Selfie Capital of the World” (which is Makati City to be specific) and fast-growing mobile phone manufacturer Vivo is capitalizing on the local market behavior by launching a new smartphone that caters to the needs and wants of the selfie-loving Filipinos – the new Vivo V5. The launch was held at Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City.

Developed with the backing of Vivo’s extensive research, the V5’s key feature is its 20-megapixel Moonlight front-facing camera powered by a 1/2.78-inch Sony IMX376 image sensor coupled with a 5P lens system, f/2.0 aperture, and soft-light flash for low-light conditions. Meanwhile, the 13-megapixel main camera features phase-detect autofocus.

The Vivo V5 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720) with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection that adds the premium feel to the handset. Inside, it is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with a 32-bit AK4376 digital to analog converter Hi-Fi chip for good audio quality, 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage that can be increased to up to 128GB through microSD. For security and stamina, the V5 integrates a fingerprint scanner that can unlock as fast as 0.2 seconds and 3000mAh battery module. On the software side of things, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow enhanced with Funtouch OS 2.6.
