"2-0": The Galaxy S9 beats the iPhone X in two important areas

The iPhone X was assessed to have the best phone display and camera for still images in November 2017 (as puiblished on HardwareZone Singapore). And within just four months, Samsung has already surpassed Apple in these two aspects with their own offering called Galaxy S9.

According to DisplayMate, the Galaxy S9 has "a record-setting impressive smartphone display" due to the highest absolute color accuracy, smallest luminance shifts with varying picture content, highest peak display brightness, largest native color gamut, highest contrast ratio and lowest screen reflectance.

On the camera aspect, DxOMark rated the rear cameras of the Galaxy S9+ as one without "any obvious weaknesses" and excels across all photos and video test categories. Specifically, the phone was praised for having its very well-controlled noise levels in all conditions, bright and vivid colors in most situations, stable and fast autofocus, and good stabilization.

Having attained the best smartphone display and best smartphone camera titles, the Galaxy S9+ is no doubt the smartphone to beat in 2018.
