Acer revs up Swift 7 as the world's thinnest laptop anew
Acer unveiled the world’s thinnest laptop once again with the updated Acer Swift 7 at the much-awaited 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The Swift 7 may have a whopping 8.98-millimeter thickness, but at the same time sports features that are thicker than its size: a 7th-Generation Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB PCIe SSD storage, 14-inch display, and integrated 4G LTE connectivity.
The updated laptop also promises to bring uncompromised reliability. Acer has upgraded the screen size from 13.3-inch to 14-inch, though screen resolution remains the same at 1080p.
"We're extremely proud to make the world's thinnest laptop even thinner with the new Swift 7," Jerry Kao, Acer's President of IT Products Business, said in a statement. "Building on the engineering breakthroughs from the previous generation, the new Swift 7 steps up the game with an even slimmer chassis, powerful performance, and always-on 4G LTE connectivity for professionals on the go."
Aside from the usual Windows 10 OS, the latest addition enables 4G connectivity by putting your micro SIM card and use it for your communication needs just like your mobile phones and tablets.
“Acer’s new Swift 7 is a great Windows 10 PC for on-the-go professionals or consumers who crave portability and connectivity,” said Peter Han, Vice President, Partner Devices and Solutions, Microsoft Corporation. “The Swift 7 is thin, light, and perfect for customers to stay connected on the go.”
“The next PC anyone buys should be a great PC – powerful to feed the newest, richest experiences all day long,” added Chris Walker, Vice President of Intel Corp. “Acer’s Swift 7 delivers on the performance expectation then ups the ante with built-in 4G LTE in an ultra-thin, stunning design. It’s the perfect PC for those who have things to do and create anywhere, at any time.”
The new Acer Swift 7 is set to hit the stores starting March 2018 in North America, and April in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) countries, with the introductory prices of USD 1,699 (North America) and EUR 1,699 (EMEA).
