Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ phablet highlights an eight-core processor (updated)

At CES 2014, Alcatel captured the attention of visitors when it unveiled the OneTouch Idol X+. The main highlight of the new phablet is its processor – an eight-core MediaTek MT6592 clocked at 2GHz. On the front, the OneTouch Idol X+ flaunts a 5-inch touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 display resolution. Apart from having a powerful processor, the handset also keeps within its 7.9mm-thin profile a PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 16GB/32GB onboard storage. In terms of imaging, the OneTouch Idol X+ is equipped with a 13.1-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel shooter in front. For wireless connectivity, the phablet supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G using a micro-SIM card. It also comes with a non-removable 2500mAh lithium-ion battery module. The OneTouch Idol X+ is anticipated to be priced around EUR 220 or PhP 13,500 based on our currency.
