ASUS invites fans to join "Directed By You" contest for new ZenFone 3 video ads

ASUS has announced its “Directed By You” contest that encourages Filipino fans to submit their plot ideas, which will be collected to produce a series of three video ads highlighting the new ZenFone 3.

The video ads will be produced by groups of professional filmmakers and artists.  

“We cannot wait to see the creativity and humor of our fans that will result from this contest,” Erik Hermanson, Head of Mobile Brand and Marketing, said. “It will be an interesting and entertaining international ‘social experiment’ to see the diversity of ideas,” he added.

To Join:

  • Participation
  1. Visit the “Directed By You” website.
  2. For a period of three weeks, starting from November 8, participants can submit story ideas that must be kept within a 200-character limit and contain a “daily key word” related to the topic of the week.
  • Weekly topics  photography, entertainment, and gaming.
  • Prizes
  1. A ZenFone 3 will be given as a daily prize for the best entry of the day.
  2. The participants who submit the best entries each day will have their ideas turned into a storyline and the plot for a video ad.

Meanwhile, three teams of highly experienced professionals will produce the final video ad for each week.

  • Week 1: Photograpy – the first week’s video ad will focus on photography. It will be created by multi-award-winning Indian photographer, Ritesh Uttamchandani, and the youngest Indian director to feature at Cannes,  Varun Chopra.
  • Week 2: Entertainment – the second week’s video ad will focus on Entertainment. It will be created by the Barcelona-based group of directors, MANSON, and French comedian, Dycosh.
  • Week 3: Gaming – the final week’s video ad will focus on Gaming. It will be created by multi-award winning Thai ad director, Jan Mantanakorn, who is renowned in her industry for plot-driven, storytelling ads. Also, Filipino-Canadian singer, songwriter, actor, and comedian, Mikey Bustos, will bring the Gaming ad to life.
